After spending a few years working as a healthcare research analyst at Pacificare, one of the largest healthcare organizations in the country, he attended Touro University to complete his medical degree.
After completing his ophthalmology internship and residency in Las Vegas, Nevada, he decided to return to southern California. As chief resident, Dr. Huang was selected by his mentors to serve on medical mission trips in developing countries, an experience that has profoundly influenced and prepared him for dealing with difficult surgical cases.
Dr. Huang has a strong interest in refractive cataract surgery, glaucoma management, and international humanitarian programs.
A board certified ophthalmologist, Dr. Huang is one of the first surgeons in the San Gabriel Valley to perform femtosecond laser assisted cataract surgery using the Alcon LenSX platform, which allows each aspect of cataract surgery to be customized to achieve a truly remarkable level of precision.
An avid basketball and tennis player, Dr. Huang can be found on the local courts in his spare time. Dr. Huang is fluent in Chinese Mandarin and Taiwanese.

Born in Taiwan, Dr. Huang grew up in Irvine, California. He received his undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of Southern California where he graduated with Presidential Scholar honors. He then completed his graduate studies at New York University, where he received his Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology.
